SumIt respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the app.
SumIt stores the information you create in the app, such as counter and group names, count history, timestamps, display names, and app preferences. This information is used only to provide SumIt’s counting, charting, syncing, and sharing features.
SumIt does not use advertising SDKs and does not sell your information.
SumIt can use PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to understand how the app is used and to diagnose problems. Starting with version 1.1.1, sharing this information is optional and off until you choose. The first time you open the app, you can turn on either or both of two choices, or continue without sharing anything. SumIt works the same either way.
Usage analytics. If you turn this on, SumIt sends PostHog information about the screens and features you use, including:
Crash and error reports. If you turn this on, SumIt sends PostHog crash reports and error logs with technical details, such as error messages and where in the app the error happened, so problems can be fixed. A crash report includes the steps you took before the crash only if you have also turned on usage analytics.
Neither choice sends the names of your counters or groups, notes, participant display names, or invite handles. SumIt does not record your screen, and session replay is turned off. This information is not used for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information sent to PostHog is tied to a random identifier for your app installation, not to your name, email address, or Apple ID. PostHog may also receive your device’s IP address when information is sent. PostHog processes this information in the United States. You can read PostHog’s privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.
Changing your choices. You can change either choice at any time in Settings → Privacy in the app. When you turn a choice off, SumIt stops sending that information and deletes reports waiting to be sent from your device. Information already sent to PostHog is not deleted.
If you decline usage analytics, SumIt keeps using the feature settings it last received, or its built-in defaults, without contacting PostHog.

Your SumIt data is stored on your device and may be synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit service so that it is available across your devices. If you choose to share a counter or group, the information in that shared item—including its name, count history, and participant display names—will be available to the people you invite. You control whether to share an item and can stop sharing it through the app or Apple’s sharing controls.
Some sharing and invite features may use your Apple account identifier, the display name or handle you choose, and CloudKit records to identify invite recipients and deliver shared items. SumIt may also register for push notifications so that iCloud can keep shared data up to date. SumIt requests permission before showing user-visible notifications.
Apple handles iCloud, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, and notification services under its own privacy practices. You can learn more in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Other than Apple services needed for iCloud synchronization, sharing, Sign in with Apple, and notifications, and PostHog for the optional analytics and crash reporting described above, SumIt does not use third-party services that collect user data.
If this Privacy Policy is updated in the future, the changes will be made available within the app’s settings or app store listing.
